For anyone thinking of buying a Sevylor inflatable. Takes ten minutes to be on the water and all fits easily into the boot of a car. Don't think twice! some clips on the water from a 63 mile three day trip on the Thames in the Rio and larger Hudson each with 30kg of gear www.youtube.com and some safety for canoeing - life jacket, loud plastic whistle, 4m stretchy canoe/paddle harness (if you fall out in a wind the canoe can be gone quicker than you can swim) and a paddle leash (easy to loose a paddle if you rest and lean back to enjoy the sunshine for five minutes) and a waterproof phone bag, all available on ebay. And phone someone, let them know your route, when you're leaving, when you're back and roughly when you're call them back. Simples!
